The staff at VIUCEDD is pleased to announce the grand opening of the ADDRC in the U.S. Virgin Islands on April 15, 2016 at the St. Croix VIUCEDD office. The ADDRC is a model research, training and technical assistance center that will focus on best practices related to early screening and detection of developmental disabilities, best practices in early intervention and best practices for treatment, language development and the development of adaptive behaviors in infants and toddlers aged 0-5. The ADDRC will also serve people with disabilities across the lifespan.
 
ADDRC Training and Services:
 
The ADDRC as a training center will be accessible to parents, developmental pediatricians, other medical personnel, teachers, educational practitioners, Head Start, Early Head Start employees and other allied health professionals. The work of the ADDRC will be informed by research based early intervention practices such as the CDC’s Learn The Signs Act Early Program, methodologies related to Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech and Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy and other best practices in the field of disability research.
 
 
ADDRC services include, but are not limited to:
·       Early Intervention Screening, Detection and Treatment Recommendations for Infants and Toddlers aged 0-5
·       Developmental Milestone Training
·       Treatment Plan Development and Implementation Training
·       Training in the Administration of a Range of Psychological, Academic, Social, Behavioral, Emotional and
        Adaptive Behavior Assessments
·       Certification Training for the Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) Internationally Recognized Credential
·       BCBA Supervision and Training
·       Functional Behavioral Assessments
·       Behavior Plan Development
·       Functional Analysis
·       Employment Training for People With Disabilities
·       Training in the Teaching of Verbal Behavior
·       Training in Natural Environmental Teaching (NET) and Naturalistic Teaching Techniques
·       Problem Behavior Reduction for Learners Aged 0-99
·       Discrete Trial Training (DTT) and Intensive Teaching Techniques (ITT)
·       Data Collection Protocol Development
·       Practicum Site for Student Teaching
·       Other Customized Services
 
ADDRC Research:
The ADDRC is an active research center that will be conducting research related to applied behavior analysis, autism diagnosis and treatment, other developmental disability diagnosis and treatment, early intervention and detection, early screening and treatment and transition services for older people with disabilities.
