University of the Virgin Islands

The University of the Virgin Islands is listed as one of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities and is a land grant higher education institution. VIUCEDD is housed within the Community Extension as part of the University and is located on both islands.The St. Thomas office is located on campus. The St. Croix office is adjacent to the campus, #1 Golden Grove. The University was established in 1962 and is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. UVI provides an array of undergraduate and graduate programs that include nursing, marine biology, education, business and more. Other programs such as extension and outreach services, pre-services and  in-services are also provided by the University as well as VIUCEDD.

Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD)

The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) is a membership organization that supports and promotes a national network of university-based interdisciplinary programs. Network members consist of 67 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), funded by the Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD). These programs serve and are located in every U.S. state and territory and are all part of universities or medical centers. They serve as a bridge between the university and the community, bringing together resources achieve meaningful change.

Virgin Islands Department of Special Education (VIDOSE)

VIUCEDD works with the VI Department of Special Education on several initiatives and projects. Most recently, VIUCEDD worked with VIDOSE to implement a district wide Positive Behavioral Policy. Follow up training and technical assistance were provided by VIUCEDD to the schools. VIUCEDD also collaborates with VIDOSE on parent empowerment through an annual conference and monthly workshops. From Early Childhood Education to high school students (transition age), VIUCEDD partners with VIDOSE on many system-wide issues that affect all students with disabilities.

Virgin Islands Family Information Network on Disability (VI FIND)

VI Family Information Network is on Disability it's located in St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix. The focus is on working with parents of children with disabilities on a variety of topics that include IEP development, networking and resources, transition, benefits and age of majority and more. VIFIND and VICUEDD have a long history of collaborating on parent empowerment activities. The two main collaborations are monthly empowerment workshops and an annual parent empowerment conference. The VI FIND is the technical assistance center for the Parent Information Network for the territory which is funded by the US Department of Education (OSEP).

Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD)
WIHD and VIUCEDD partnered to provide a concentration in Leadership Education and Developmental Disabilities (LEADD) within the Masters of Education degree program through the University of the Virgin Islands. This twelve hour certificate program focuses on how technologies, specifically assistive technologies, play an integral part in the life of individual with disabilities. Assistive technologies addresses a student who needs modifaction in the classroom. This could be a piece of equipment, human performance on and environmental issue. A student will be prepared to be an advocate and expert about accessible technologies.
